Sometimes we look back and remember
The times when we were so new and green
It feels like only yesterday
And yet it seems so far away
A life that we thought would always be
Is now a distant memory

But then there's a certain kind of innocence
That's found when you're living in the present tense
So many things we often miss
From claiming ignorance is bliss
We never stop to question how
Living in the here and now

For now we are floating in time
Somewhere between the beginning and the end
I know that our spirit lives on

Someday when we're getting very old and gray
I hope we'll be able to look back and say
We lived as we always hoped we would
And did all the things we knew we should
We may have made a few mistakes
But learned some things along the way
