LIFE LINE
Lyrics by Jakki Jelene

‘I’m fine!’ she heard him say before he slammed the door
They have been through this a million times before
Another night of psychedelic scenes
Flashes from the television screen

She goes down on her knees to say a prayer
And wonders if he even made it there
4 am and still no word at all
Plain to see the writing on the wall

He’s intoxicated and feeling elated, but not for too long
It’s so very frightening, she’s knows that it’s likely that things could go wrong

One of these days he will deal with fate
It may already be too late
How many secrets and how many lies
Can you tell to the baby with her Father’s eyes?

Pick up the phone and dial 911
Got to get to him first before the damage is done
Should the morning light shine God only knows what they’ll find
Will somebody please throw this man a life line?

She goes down on her knees to say a prayer
And wonders if he even made it there
4 am and still no word at all
Plain to see the writing on the wall

He’s intoxicated and feeling elated, but not for too long
It’s so very frightening, she’s knows that it’s likely that things could go wrong
